Confusing Road Signs

I kicked start my 2008 climbing Mount Kinabalu. I doubt I have enough a range of words to describe what met my eyes there. It was downright magnificent! Even photos cannot capture fully the splendour. I should therefore save the trouble of blogging about it here, I guess. Anyhow, I shall pick a few better pictures to post here later (once I get hold of them).
A Jot by A Sot

O.O?
I am equally puzzled as well. Haha.

My mistake. I should make this clearer. But what I was trying to put forward is that apparently somebody tried to be funny and played a prank by editing the sign bearing "TUARAN 17" into "JAPAN 17" by deleting the letter T and the left half of U and the tail of R from TUARAN, making it look like JAPAN. If you do not look carefully, and even if you do, you would not realize it has been edited. Brilliantly done.
Peifei, it is not an excuse. :P It's the truth.
